What are his symptoms? Do you see an actual bite? If so is it extremely painful around the area? How is his breathing?

This is my only complaint with the no-kill concept, in theory keeping every dog alive is ideal, but when basic care and health is in jeopardy I believe some things are worse then a humane death. We have a truth here in this country, we don't treat our dogs(and other animals but speaking of dogs right now) we buy them, we dump them, we breed them when there are too many, and we kill millions of them every year. Taking on too many animals then they can take care of is turning the organization into glorified hoarders. At the very least they should have a method of euthanizing these dogs. No-kill never works on this kind of level, it takes great resources to be a no kill shelter. The fact is that most no-kills continue to be no-kills because they are picky about the dogs they take in. Very few take in dogs that are going to be medically ill or unadoptable. There is no such thing as no-kill as long as there are millions of dogs being killed because of lack of homes it just mean certain people won't do it and it's put into another shelter or rescues hands but the deaths are happening. This organization should be ashamed of themselves, leaving a volunteer out in the cold like this with a dying dog.

Does the pound euthanize with sodium pentobarbital or they still using gas? Are there any shelters within driving distance that take stays? They need a plan!! This poor little guy is suffering that's not rescue thats torture. It's not your fault Delta you are doing the best you can.
