Depends what part you want to live in, the central belt has jobs but the further up into the Highlands you go the less well paid jobs there are, but saying that we have never had trouble finding work. Cost of living - not sure what it would be like compared to US. We all moan about the cost of living but I think everyone everywhere does that!! Things like cars and gas are a lot more here but I think our food is on a par now. We have quite a few Americans living in Forres, The Findhorn Foundation is only 4 miles from here and it is a very famous centre of Light and Awareness and a lot of Americans visit and fall in love with the place and stay. Scotland has a way of getting into your heart.
