Barry, one of the volunteers has been seeing a small black dog tied to a two foot chain with no food or water or shelter for days.
He stopped today on his way to the store where we were having adoption day and took the dog.
The owners of the dog watched out the window and so did the owner of the house who lives across the street and they called the police but our volunteer had also called the police.
I missed it because I wasn't there yet but got there just as the cop was driving away.
Anyway, those people always let their dogs die and the dog catcher is always taking their dogs from them and getting them homes out of town.
They use to live next door to me and they would get puppies and let them all die of parvo.
The dog is now in our custody until tomorrow when the dog catcher will handle the situation.
The man and woman drove by our set up at the store a little while later and pretended like they didn't see us but they were looking at us out of the corner of their eyes like we are stupid and not going to see them.
They went to McAlester Paws and got the dog because they can't get one from us.
A good part is that I rescued three beautiful 5 month old Golden Retrievers the other day from way out by the park and a lady and her husband who live out there had gone home after church and had decided to go back to the store.
The lady saw the dogs and went running up to them in her good clothes, hose and stuff and got down on her hands and knees to look at them in the cage and the dogs got so happy.
They said that the dogs had followed their father out running in the country by their house and the father came back but the puppies didn't.
A man and woman near them had been taking care of the puppies.
They got to go home and maybe now the people will take better care of them.
They gave us a 50 dollar donation :)
